The Right to Acquire is open to Knightstone Housing Association Assured Tenants who live in properties that were built or acquired with funding that was obtained after 1st April 1997.
Please contact our
Homebuy Sales Team if you're not sure if your home qualifies.
As well as living in a property that qualifies, you must also have been a Knightstone or other public sector tenant (for example, a council or other housing association) for at least two years.
The discount is a fixed amount that is set by the Government. The amount is dependant on where you live but in the south west this will range from £10,000-£13,500.
There are certain exemptions to the Right to Acquire. For example, homes in certain rural areas, tied accommodation or homes that are specifically for elderly people, or people with disabilities.
For more details on the scheme, including who has the Right to Acquire, how it operates, how discounts are calculated, the financial implications of owning your own home, or an application form, please contact our
